Vacation Bible School Begins!!
Vacation Bible School at Eastanallee will be June 2-7, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.! The theme this year is "In The Wild" and the VBS Motto is "Zoom in! Focus on Jesus!" Kids will be encouraged to grab their cameras and zoom in on animals in their natural habitats, while learning about some amazing real-life encounters with Jesus! Kids will discover that each "snapshot" of Jesus is an opportunity to respond to the Gospel. And when put together, these isolated encounters clearly reveal the most amazing truth of all- Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing we can have life in His name! I don't know about you, but I am ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
I know it seems like VBS is a long time from now, but preparations for VBS at EBC begin LONG before VBS Week! This weekend, I was blessed to be a part of LifeWay's VBS Preview event in Hendersonville, TN. I attend this event each year, and it is a great way to jump-start VBS planning at Eastanallee! I attend breakout sessions to gain valuable training to help me plan the very best VBS I can, but also to help me train our VBS Volunteers in different areas and to help our children learn, grow and stay safe while they attend our VBS program. This year I attended breakout sessions on VBS Follow-Up, Doing VBS Wild (Or At Least Different), Sharing the Gospel With Kids, Clues for Keeping VBS Safe and 360 Teacher Appreciation. I learned useful strategies for following-up with our VBS guests and staying connected after VBS, ideas for changing things up to keep VBS fun and exciting, creative ways to connect with kids and share the Gospel, ways we can improve and add to our safety and security procedures to ensure the safety of our VBS kiddos and Volunteers, and different ways I can encourage and show appreciation to our many VBS Volunteers! It was a fun and information-packed two days and I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of it. I met wonderful people from across our region and developed relationships that will hopefully help me to grow as a leader, but also that allow me the opportunity to pour into the lives of others. I am always blessed and encouraged and this year was no different.
Please be in prayer for our VBS program as we begin this WILD adventure! I ask that you specifically pray for God's guidance throughout the planning process, for key leadership as we begin recruiting area directors, for the kids who will attend our program and for their families. God has great things in store for us this year, and I am so excited to see what He will do in the lives of everyone involved in VBS at EBC!
